Sigrun knows that dignified declarations do not fill granaries or wash dishes.

In The Highlander

Sigrun Ironvale is Eira's aunt, an Ironvale elder whose practical humour cuts through ceremonial talk. After Eira refused Branok's oath, Sigrun declared that anyone saying "dignified" before supper should be given dish duty, answered fears about Branok by proposing that Ironvale become more inconvenient, and approved Eira's refusal to pretend that going south would solve winter, since pretending is expensive. When Eira left she kissed her forehead and told her not to let Luna teach her to apologise for her size. News that later reached Luna had her telling the clan to stop talking until it had done something useful with its hands.
