Ossa's name connects historical paperwork, Manus Farthing's movements and the pressure placed on marked sisters.

In The Godless Priest

Ossa Pell is Jerrik Vale's sister and the keeper of a private archive beneath the Synod that serves Mother Vey and the Crown. She never appears in person; the book assembles her through evidence. As a young woman she signed for Manus Farthing's movements in Crowbrook, and her shorthand appears on the judgment that sent him into exile. Sennic Arlo identified her as the archivist who ordered the dead reassigned "by useful bereavement", and her office produced the posters that made Oren a saint.

Her abandoned desk held the message "My brother opened first", and her ledger revealed that she had used Jerrik as a first experimental host, anticipating the Pit, the hook and the missing clerk. As her name began vanishing from official records, an arrest order was written against her by relationship instead. Her house was found empty, its portraits with their faces cut away, and her payments led to a nursery kitchen she had funded for seven years. By the end of the book she had not been found.

After the books

Her final status remains unresolved in the current canonical record. The record retains uncertainty where the manuscripts do not settle her later fate.
