Elderon Thalavar

A court-voice with careful manners and sharp teeth. Elderon measures crises in optics, leverage, and who can be made to carry the blame.

In The Outcast Knight

Elderon Thalavar is a leading member of the Council of Luna who carries a staff and presides over its sessions. After Mary Halmund brought word of Eamon's rampage, he struggled to restore order to the panicked council, then declared that King Aurelion's grasp on reality was gone and Luna effectively leaderless. Against those who feared a coup, he argued that Astarion was the one the people trusted. On his assistant's suggestion the council settled on the King's pilgrimage. Elderon then crowned Astarion with an old circlet of luminarite and silver on the council's behalf, and later pledged the council's full strength to the new king and queen in the war chamber.

After the books

After the Scorched Sky, Elderon’s counsel grows colder: survival politics for a city that can no longer pretend it is pure.
