Eirik works around Yrsa's forge, carrying packets and the urgency of young people asked to be careful.
In The Highlander
Eirik Emberlock is a young forge boy who travelled south with Eira carrying Yrsa Flintkiss's sealed packet of proof. On the road he wanted to know whether demons preferred night attacks or symbolic weather, threw flour into a charging shardback's face at Rusk Ford, and left a copper at a shrine of Charon for the Stonejaw horn-blower eaten by a cliff wyrm, though he had never known the man. During Varkhul's attack he carried children to safety, held the whispering charm case, and struck a young wyrm across the snout with an iron frying pan, earning the nickname Pan Hand, which he hated. He followed Eira into the North Beacon against orders. At Luna's edge she sent him home with Yrsa's duplicate packet, telling him that carrying proof north was not a smaller task; he wept and went.
