Frey

Frey survives an encounter that would have taken an arm and perhaps a life without the patrol's intervention.

In The Highlander

Frey is a young member of Eira's Red Stair patrol. When Varkhul attacked, the beast spoke in his dead mother's voice, and he was yanked half over the drop until Old Venn caught the rope and Harl caught him, leaving his hands shredded. Back at Wolfmere Pass, Brynna scolded him for losing a glove before hugging him, the pass court set him to mending rope, and he chased Harl with a soup ladle over one of Venn's retellings of the fight.

After the books

Remains part of the mountain community after the early horrors of the road. Their survival is part of the ordinary continuity the community protects.
