Old Kellan Tideglass wears Kraken’s corroded silver mask like a joke the sea never stopped telling. His humour is sharp, his patience thinner, and his politics simple: don’t feed children into teeth for someone else’s powders. If the Creed demands a tithe, he’d rather send a storm that can swim than a child that will drown under Luna’s light.
Appearance
Kellan sits behind the Kraken Council mask of salt-corroded silver, which never quite behaves and sheds little flakes of metal when he moves. His voice has the rough humour of sea wind.
In The Channeler
Old Kellan Tideglass is the Kraken elder on the Council of Masks, sardonic and practical. He blamed the bolder hollowborn on the approaching Festival, reported that Kraken had lost two barges to hollow packs and would not send more young ones into danger for Hush shipments, and offered Neris Tideglass as Kraken's tithe if she volunteered, so that she might learn in the Sanctum and bring that learning home. He teased Nyssa for Phoenix theatrics but backed the Council's reasoning, arguing that it was better to choose where their people's service was spent than to wait for the Hollow King to collect his own tithe. At the naming he spoke of rivers running wrong and of not closing a fist too soon.
