Old Venn's body has limits, but his watchfulness does not.

In The Highlander

Old Venn is a veteran of Eira's Red Stair patrol. His bad knee gave out again during Varkhul's attack, though he caught the pass rope when Frey was dragged towards the drop. At Wolfmere Pass he let children poke the ruined knee, telling them the mountain had tried to eat him and found him sour, and spun ever less accurate and more useful versions of the fight until the pass court ordered him to tell the true one, including his fall over a pack.

After the books

A surviving mountain witness and practical elder. He remains a reminder that competence and care are not reserved for the young or unscarred.
