Play the card game. Watch the RPG take shape.

Lightspire: Cards is out now in Early Access on Steam. Beyond the battlefield, the Lightspire RPG is taking shape one monthly update at a time.

Out now in Early Access

Lightspire: Cards

A tactical card battler where cards become positioned units on a grid. Build a deck, manage hidden information and grow familiar units into future leaders.

Cards become units in tactical 1v1 battles shaped by facing, movement, terrain and support.

Face-down information turns every reveal into a risk and every placement into board pressure.

Campaign units earn persistent XP, rise through ranks and can eventually qualify to lead a deck.

A 31-chapter campaign drawn from the books, plus Skirmish and multiplayer, brings the wider Lightspire world into play.

The saga

Books, bloodlines, and the lore archive

The books are the mythic history behind the card game and the long-term RPG. Two are out now, two more are on the way, and the family tree maps the bloodlines that connect them.

RPG journal · November 2026

From the page to the first playable chapters

October took the game from the page to play. The first three chapters of The Outcast Knight now run end to end in a development build, every location in them has been signed off, Luna was regrown by procedural rules, and every race now loads in the character creator. Around the game, Lightspire: Cards went from Steam Next Fest to Early Access, the books had their biggest continuity pass yet, and the website gained a wiki.

Worldbuilding

One setting, several doorways

Lightspire is being built as a connected universe: cards for tactics, books for history, lore for context, and the RPG for the long road ahead.

The Houses of Luna

Royal bloodlines, political marriages, exiles, broken vows, and the hidden inheritance behind the Lightspire conflicts.

The Ethereal

The realm beyond the mortal world: divine, haunted, predatory, and never as distant as the faithful claim.

Faith, Blood, Nature, Souls, Materials

The same forces that shape the card game also shape cultures, monsters, magic, and war across the wider setting.

Solo developed

Built openly, with room for collaborators

Ethereal Realms is currently a solo-developer project, but the vision is bigger than one discipline. I am interested in multi-talented collaborators, artists, technical artists, 3D generalists, UI designers, and potential studio partnerships that can help bring the full RPG world to life.
