The late Queen of Luna: absent in body, present in everything. Her death is the unhealed wound at the centre of the Solastis line, and the excuse used to sanctify cruelty.
In The Outcast Knight
Queen Lyrielle Solastis is not named in The Outcast Knight; she appears only as King Aurelion's dead wife. The Festival of Light had been delayed for her mourning, a delay Alerion bitterly resented. Usso recalls that a man named Harlen lost his limbs merely for brushing her portrait in its luminarite frame, and that he and Oakren were thrown into the crypt for speaking at Harlen's trial.
